Her Story ...

hello !

Welcome to my site !!! I am so happy you found me.  So let me tell you a little about me .... I am married to my best friend, Chad, and we live in Arizona with our 2 teenage sons, Ethan and Cole and our 3 Aussie dogs ( Cisco, Quinnston, and Sookie )

I grew up in a very small town in rural Michigan outside of Kalamazoo.  My father was a tool maker, inventor and entrepreneur .. and my grandmother, who I was also very close with was also a knitter.  From these two wonderful beings I learned so much of who I am today, especially creativity.  My father was always creating new things and tools to make life easier and his job simpler.  I got to work in his tool shop and learned to use many of his tools.  When I was pregnant with the first grandchild he passed away unexpectedly.  He taught me so many things in his short 49 years here.  But most importantly I learned that life is way to SHORT, live your Dreams and if you work hard enough you CAN make things happen !   It was an important lesson that I carry with me still and believe me there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t wish he was here.. when he passed I did inherit some of his tools that I still use today and I feel his spirit lives on in my studio with me!

So your probably wondering how I became a jewelry designer ... well , honestly it is very organic how it all happened.. would you believe I never really wore jewelry, although I do consider myself a very girlie girl..  I also have do not have a degree in design or  art but instead a Masters Degree in Social Work ..  So about 10 years ago when I was working in my social work medical degree I realized I wasn’t happy at all with my job and didn’t really feel I was making the difference that I wanted ..  My inner voice was yelling at me inside and I had started creating art and jewelry on the side.. I knew I wanted to keep INSPIRING women and EMPOWERING them I just wasn’t sure how and  I also knew I wanted to stay at home and raise my two boys .. You see both were born with different complications.. my first son was born with cleft lip and palate which has led to other complications in his growth process.   And my second son had a stroke before he was born leaving him with little use of his right hand and right sided weakness.  I knew he would require lots of extra care and support and I really had my hands full with doctor appointments , care needs and support for these little boys.   So it was then and there with my husband by my side that I decide to take a leap and create a business ..  I had no idea what or how I was going to run the business but I just did .. I took each step as it came to me and never looked back.. Currently , I work in a small studio outside my home with a couple employees that help as needed  ..  We hand make everything there and you can read more about the process here ..everything is hand crafted here in the USA !
